It seems to come off like an April Fools joke, but I guess it's happening. We should find out before long. I'd be interested in a raw one. They are all Philly, so having that on the label doesn't concern me, or the grade With 1m being made it's hard to believe they'll be faked, if this is all really happening, I'll just buy from an approved buyer. I don't really care to get one of the 50k being the reward coins, unless they are available reasonably priced.(Would have to be a double digit price). I'm hoping they don't start doing a lot of these. It sounds like another is in the works already, an eagle privy. I don't NEED 10 of these coming out every year. As long as it's 1m per issue, the piece shouldn't be outrageous, that is not especially rare.

I'll wait for the colorized version in a limited edition lime green Clamshell with the signature of the janitor that sweeps the mint nightly.

Quote: Hmmm, can you say "Cheerios" wannabe? Except, and this is just my understanding of the situation, they are minting a million of them. One authorized purchaser I'd getting them first, getting them slabbed, and those are are "prize" for this gamer company. Then the rest of the authorized purchasers get them. It won't be incredibly rare, not even the gamer slabbed versions. I don't chase labels like that. For a production of 1 million or even if it's 500k, I'll be just fine getting one raw. Cheerios was as I understand it, only in the Cheerios box

I sent an email to JM Bullion, I'll let you know what their reply is. Lately, the last couple years, I've tried to get one of their "Mintsealed" ASEs, just a bullion version. My hope is (if these are produced to 1 million) that they will package a bunch this way. I can't see a million getting slabbed. Ampex (sp?) does something similar to JM Bullion Mintsealed, I can't remember their name for it. Not slabbed, but a sealed container straight from the tube and I think they do cherry pick the individual ones. They'll also seal a whole tube.

The way it's being handled in the beginning seems a little Cheerios. But it's a bonafide variation, very unusual for ASE bullion. I'm getting into it, but hoping they keep this to one or two a year. If it doesn't catch on, I'm good with that. ASE collecting has been a little dull since after 2021, so it might be nice to have something different to look forward to, especially that doesn't mean being ready to sweat out an ordering day.

Quote: P. T. Barnum would be proud. That's true. To the slabbed and graded/ label chaser crowd, it will be a field day. I don't do sports cards, but I know people who do, and the view I have of the coin collecting hobby make it seem like they're trying to make the coin hobbyist behave more like a card collector. But to do that, they have to think up more gimmicks, like the sports cards. As long as it doesn't turn outlandish, I'm good collecting what I like to collect. They can have their side show. Since it's just bullion with a privy, it won't be, or shouldn't be, a huge deal to pick one up, hopefully raw.
