Here's a decent no-motto half eagle with original surfaces and no significant hits. What do you think about her? Thanks in advance to all CCF Graders!

Another coin that is on the cusp of AU and MS!
Luster looks barely broken in the fields and a loss of frost on the high points. A choice AU-58. Very possible MS-60 though. Since it is NGC, I'll choose the latter.

I will go MS(61). It's hard to tell if the luster is broken through photos,.

If the plastic box is very recent MS62 would not surprise me.

I believe the piece is AU+ but may have landed in an MS holder. The only significant distraction is the group of hits/marks on the reverse above the eagle that run into the last three letters of STATES.
What I really like is the strike that appears to be excellent on both sides. The color is very good as well. The volume of luster disruption puts me at AU55 technically but again, it's so well struck up that doesn't show up as wear on the devices. Overall a solid example of a mid-19th century half eagle.
One interesting thing is what appears to be an almost perfectly straight and nearly vertical obverse die crack at 9:00.

AU58 is what I'm calling it. NGC might have pushed it to 60/61. I'm still at 58 due to luster loss in the fields.

This coin has significant luster loss in the fields which would suggest an AU-58 grade to me. However, the high points don't show any visible wear or the color change I'd expect if the coin circulated. The strike is very strong and there are many small (but no large) contact marks. NGC settled on a grade of MS-61.
BH1964, the obverse line is pretty straight. I'd suspect it represents a die scratch rather than a crack.
Thanks for your comments!
