Hello everyone I have this 1957 D LWC that has an rpm but I am not quite sure which one it is. There are a lot of them for this year and they can look pretty similar. Any help with identifying it would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Also, on a side note I had a question about double dies and rpm's. Do they happen together? Like, can you have a double die and a rpm?

First off the doubling you see on this coin is DDD, not a doubled Die, but that said, RPM's and doubled Dies are separate events.
RPM's are caused by a mint employee stamping the MM onto the Die twice (a double tap - if you like) While doubled Dies are caused during the engraving of a working die.
You have a nice RPM on this coin, but I'll have to go see if it matches any known reported RPM's.

@dearborn I didn't think this one was a double die at all... I haven't been lucky enough to find a double die yet ... It was just a question that had popped into my head.

Thank you for the info though! I am curious to see if everyone agrees with you on the rpm! That was one of the ones I was thinking it might be also.

Again, thank you!

I didn't think you thought it was, I just mentioned it because you raised the question about DDO in general, I thought I would just supply the extra info.

and I'm glad I could be of assistance. So! lets see how correct we are on the RPM..

It is an RPM but not RPM-013. You were close though, Dearborn. Until I did a side by side comparison, I thought you were right.

I did the same thing you did Makecents, Which is why I said "Well, This is the closest I can come up with. RPM-013 from VV." I knew it was not the 13, just very close. I couldn't find a match at all, maybe this is a new discovery.

By the way, Vivian, there are several DDO / DDR combos out there along with doubled dies with RPM's. I think there are a couple of DDO / DDR's with an RPM too, a threefer, not very common though.

@-makecents-That is really interesting. Sure would love to find one of those! lol

@Dearborn I do think it is odd that I can't match it but with so many rpm's that year it seems like it would be possible for there to be a new one discovered. Honestly, I would be really excited about that, no matter how slight the rpm is.

Do you think I should send it in to have someone take a look at it?

Vivian, can you do a nice clear closeup, about the same size as the pic I have shown below and make sure there is no glare in the area I have circled. Thanks.

Yours may be an earlier die stage of cc's 1MM-019.

Hey my CCF friend, finding the correct RPM can be challenging. I have two complete rolls of obvious RPMS and can't match the correct number. I have gone through the complete list on advanced search in coppercoins.com no less than 5 times. With so many this takes awhile. Several have obvious markers like a cracked skull or die chip, Still no luck. The skilled members on the CCF have helped me numerous times, but I have become a bother. Several have told me to look it up myself. LOL the eason I post them is because I can't find it after a hour of trying. Months ago I gave up trying. If it's not obvious it goes into a tube. Good luck with yours.

Hmm, a 1MM-19 is possible too. Are there any die markers that we can match up?
Or is that why you are asking about that tiny die gouge in the 'N'?
