I never thought I would do this, but I bought 4 2019 P mint issues from the Mint. I always thought the Mint was overpriced, and I always managed to get P mint issues on ebay for reduced prices. But with the price of silver going nuts these days, I decided to pull the trigger and pick up four P pucks that I didn't have - War in the Pacific, Frank Church, American Memorial Park, and San Antonio Missions. (I had already picked up Lowell on ebay back in March for $131.)

I still need to get the newest bullion puck - Marsh Billings - but it's kind of hard to shell out $160 - $175 for that puck. I suppose later on I will regret not picking it up.

I guess when silver hits $35 an ounce, the 2020 P pucks at the mint, priced at $178.25 will be a good deal.

This is nuts.

Recently I have been selling a decent number of bullion pucks and a lesser amount of P pucks....both issued between 2104 and 2018. I have not made anywhere close to a profit on any of the P pucks (except for GR Clark) and have made around 40-50% profit on the bullion.

Soooo...it is all about the silver. I can almost guarantee that no one will pay more than the $155 issue price and definitely not the new $178....not even close ..unless, as you said, spot exceeds $35 and if THAT'S the case just buy the bullion rather than just hoping to break even

If you can get the P cheaper than the bullion then treat it as a bullion product and go for it.

Dang Fox, I'm waiting 10-15 years to sell. Should go for a lot more as a buy-it-now on ebay when there are only a few of the type available.

Maybe...but...in 10-15 years it obviously will not be a live series and new collectors will be sparse. Only hope will be spot silver and if that's the case just go with the bullion puck now

Smartest move I made was to get a tube of 10 bullion pucks for maybe 20+ each of the series.....all are selling at a decent premium

I bought an Effigy Mounds monster box (100 5oz coins) back in 2017. Based on spot and a decent premium, it was a good deal at the time. I'm in to it at just under $10k. Since the price of silver has gone up, I'd like to sell it. I went by a bullion and coin store yesterday. The guy there would only offer me spot even though he's in tune with the market and knows the premiums that are being charged right now. I'm thinking these are going to be hard to sell because I'll need to shop around a good bit to find someone who will offer a fair premium given the current market. I think silver rounds would have been easier to sell. He did ask for my name and number. I'm thinking he'll call me if someone comes in asking for a 5oz monster box.

It's bullion and you bought it as such. Why would you expect anything over spot if you are trying to liquidate to a bullion dealer?

Congrats on your windfall... you will be making some ca$h on this one. Take it and be happy.

I am getting nervou$ about the next few P-puck releases. I had budgeted for $150-$175. That's a pipe dream now. Good luck to all fellow collectors.

Bret: I bought a tube of 10 of each issue since 2014 and have the around two blue monster boxes of pucks.

For the last two months I have been selling them as individual pucks and doing pretty good with prices ranging from $130-$165 each. The $130 was early in the rise of spot silver. It keeps me busy but my sales for the year will be ending this week

Do the math with straight bullion spot sale vs. selling fees and time involved and see what works out

That sounds good, but time consuming. Have you been selling on ebay?

I think I'd make great return by selling on ebay, but I just don't have the time. Even if I did, I'd rather do other things. There's a local coin show at the end of this month. Hopefully I'll be able to unload the monster box there.

I get it...but...Effigy Mounds is averaging around $32/oz for a puck on The Bay

Selling for $24+ (spot NOW) leaves a bit on the table but it is easier

The 2019 P-ATBs are slowly selling out at the US Mint.
American Memorial Park, San Antonio Missions and War in the Pacific are all gone now. My favorite, Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, is still available as well as Lowell (my least favorite). Tastes differ I guess.

@Bret: Have you contacted any of the major bullion house? Physical silver are in high demand, they may offer you good price and pay for the shipping cost, IF that's what you want: an easy out.
