Let me apologize in advance if this has been covered - I looked at the last few months of postings and didn't see anything to answer my question.
Has the P version of the Salt River Bay puck been sold out at the mint? I don't see it on their website whatsoever.
I looked at their cumulative sales report, and the current report shows 13,567 which is still under their 13,750 cutoff.
I see two 2020 issues still available (Weir Farm and Marsh Billings), and two 2020 issues not available (American Samoa and Tallgrass Prairie). |

I never thought I would do this, but I bought 4 2019 P mint issues from the Mint. I always thought the Mint was overpriced, and I always managed to get P mint issues on eBay for reduced prices. But with the price of silver going nuts these days, I decided to pull the trigger and pick up four P pucks that I didn't have - War in the Pacific, Frank Church, American Memorial Park, and San Antonio Missions. (I had already picked up Lowell on ebay back in March for $131.)
I still need to get the newest bullion puck - Marsh Billings - but it's kind of hard to shell out $160 - $175 for that puck. I suppose later on I will regret not picking it up.
I guess when silver hits $35 an ounce, the 2020 P pucks at the mint, priced at $178.25 will be a good deal.
This is nuts. |

And now the Weir Farm is up to $106 - $107 if you by 100 coins. $111 for one. I think I'll wait a little bit to see how it goes. Maybe if (and hopefully when) the coronavirus starts to get better, and every one calms down and quits buying all the silver they can afford - maybe then the Weir Farm prices will come down.
Seems kind of ridiculous to spend $7.50 - $8 over spot to get a silver eagle.
Maybe we should all buy one Weir Farm for now in case it does turn out to be a low mintage. And if it doesn't become a low mintage, and the demand for silver goes down, hence the price of Weir Farm goes down, then maybe that would be the time to buy a second one to average the price out. |

$178.25 for the new mint issued ATBs is crazy money. Why the big hike?
I haven't bought any of these from the mint - all of my P mint purchases have come from ebay for a pretty good savings. I'll take my chances and buy these in the future off of ebay.
On another subject, ebay is now hitting me with a sales tax on these ATBs. My state doesn't charge sales taxes on coins or bullion items. I told this to ebay, and didn't get any where with them. Any suggestions on how to get ebay to stop charging the sales tax on these ATBs? I know I'm not the only collector affected by this - from what I've seen online, 37 states don't charge sales taxes on coins or bullion. So there's a lot of people out there now getting screwed over on sales taxes from ebay. |

A week ago I won the Apostle Island P mint coin on ebay, and when I got the puck, the outer sleeve was for the Voyageurs puck. I contacted the seller - I noticed he had a Voyageurs puck up for auction, but he said that puck had the correct sleeve. He didn't know what happened to my sleeve - said nobody else had complained about getting the wrong sleeve. I told him not to worry about it, no big deal.
Today I received the Grand Canyon P mint coin that I won on ebay, and again the wrong outer sleeve - it was for the Everglades puck. I contacted the seller (a different seller this time around), and told him. He got back with me, and he does have the right sleeve and will be mailing it out to me in the morning. He said he had 27 ATB pucks to sell on ebay, and he didn't know that there were stickers on the outer sleeves. He said that he had taken all the outer sleeves off to protect them (?), and then as he sold each puck, he would send a sleeve along with the puck. He said that since he has messed up in mailing out different sleeves with the different pucks, that for the remaining pucks, he wasn't going to bother sending the sleeves. He said that since the pictures on ebay only showed the puck, the inner box, and the COA, but not the outer sleeve, then he felt the buyers couldn't complain about not getting the outer sleeve. I told him, that whereas his logic was true that the outer sleeves weren't pictured, that collectors, upon seeing in inner box and the COA papers, would assume they were getting the outer sleeve, too. I told him it would probably be in his best interest to send out the proper sleeves if he had them.
Anyways, I thought I'd see what all of you folks had to say on this.
It really isn't a big deal to me. But I don't know how big a deal this is to other collectors. I don't know if this would be a big deal down the road when I go to sell these pucks.
I really thought it was kind of humorous. |

Yes, it definitely has the P mint mark.
I went back to the original eBay listing to check on how the seller described it. He only put pictures of the obverse and reverse of the puck, and no pictures of the OGP. And his description didn't mention anything about any OGP accompanying the coin. So, it's not like he misled me or anything.
I just figured I was getting the puck for a good price and I could pick up all the OGP stuff later. Only after I received the puck did I realize the capsule wasn't the same size as the other P mint capsules that I have.
One eBay seller currently has the OGP for sale at a good price, but no capsule.
Maybe one of the members of this forum has an extra one laying around - I'm assuming somebody might have broken theirs out to submit the puck to a grading service.

I recently purchased a Yosemite P puck on eBay, but it didn't come with a box or COA papers. I figured I could get that later. Then I noticed that the puck somewhere along the line had been removed from it's original government encapsulated holder and placed in a different holder. The holder that I have is a bit smaller than the government sized holder.
My question is, can I purchase the government size holder somewhere? Does anyone know the specification size of the government holder.
If I can't get the correct size holder, then there's no use for me to buy and empty COA box for the coin, since my coin will be loose in the holder. |
