I agreed with Bret's comment: "One thing to keep in mind about the 5oz ATB's is that there's a huge spread between dealer selling and buyback prices."

IF you are selling to the dealer, don't expect to get the full retail (or even the release price of the "P" version) on about half of them.

IF you are planning to liquidate, make sure to put in the work and sell them directly to collectors.

Btw, THANK YOU Barryg

@Bret: Have you contacted any of the major bullion house? Physical silver are in high demand, they may offer you good price and pay for the shipping cost, IF that's what you want: an easy out.

YES, I totally agree with Ballyhoo.

I learned a BIG lesson on the 1999 set when I first entered the hobby.

Very in dept but 'common sense' analysis by Big-Kingdom.

I'm on the same boat, and I am sitting on the sideline now, waiting for the right moment.
I've learned a lot and try to reflect upon previous USMint "Hyper-release", such as the 2011 ASE set.... price peaked and I didn't sell, now price dropped down and I still enjoy the coin (but IF I was to "make money" then I should have sold to the hype and come back to buy NOW!.

Best wishes.

Welcome back Foxwood Man. I was wondering where have you been... I haven't seen you posted for a while, especially in this hyperactive thread. I missed reading your insightful posts.

Good seeing you back.

Seeing how this page had grown and evolved... and all the excitements about this release.
===> Good traffic to our website.
===> Good PR to the hobby.
===> Good experience to the fortunate few AND those not so happy like me.

I couldn't get the coin on the release date, missed the time on Friday (keep thinking 9AM EST), waked up at 4:30AM PST and missed it, tried again on Sunday and didn't get it....

So, now I'm pretending that the coin doesn't exist. I will have to patiently wait for the dust to settle and wait for luck to come back.

I'm still waiting for a good price to get the raw 5oz. Definitely not getting directly from the mint...

Thanks jbuck for confirming the date. Yes, those annual sets of 2012 and the price spike after that.... I think current price for the 2012 are still higher than comparable sets of other years.

That's true, but in the past, wasn't there a year when the Mint suddenly ended the sale in early Jannuary?

Btw, I saw something interesting: While waiting for the USMint's 2019-S ERP ASE coin page to load, in the "waiting for..." line, I saw "facebook.com", does that mean the USMint is hiring Facebook to host their page? Like the DoD contract recently given to MSFT over AMZN.

So, I missed the 2019-S Enhance Reverse Proof sale this morning...but I saw this listing of US Mint's page: https://catalog.usmint.gov/holiday-...nce-_-111519

"Last Chance
Going, going.almost gone! There's not much time left to purchase these beautiful keepsakes or to share them as gifts this holiday season. If you're interested in the stunning 2019 American Legion 100th Anniversary commemorative coins, the curved coins in the 2019 Apollo 11 50th Anniversary commemorative program, or any of the other Last Chance items, don't miss your final opportunity to own these before they go off sale forever! 2019 Commemorative products go off-sale on December 27, 2019 at midnight ET. All other Last Chance products go off-sale on December 31, 2019, at 11:59pm ET."

There are 5 groups of coins to consider (in order of priority):
1) Commemoratives (gold and silver), which will end on December 27, 2019 at midnight ET. Watch for the number of the Uncirculated versions.
2) Annual Sets (Mint Set, Proof Set, Silver Proof Set, etc), which will end on December 31, 2019, at 11:59pm ET. The highlight is actually in the special Lincoln cent.
3) ATB 5oz, which will end on December 31, 2019, at 11:59pm ET.
4) American Silver Eagle and American Gold Eagle, which will end on December 31, 2019, at 11:59pm ET.
5) Other products (coins in NOT mentioned above packaging), which can be suddenly ended on December 31, 2019, at 11:59pm ET. For example, those Congratulation Set of previous years.

It's getting closer to the end of 2019.... so Where are we standing now, regarding the current mintage for 2019 Commemorative? Which are potential sleeper coins?

Based on Foxwood's post: http://goccf.com/t/339242#2901134

The number for 2018-W Burnished ASE is quite low.
The question is: What's the number for the 2019 coin?
Is the mintage trend heading lower or is Fox's theory correct?
