Woke up to an email from the USM advising they had changed their web site.
Have visited and confirmed my account information and subscriptions info transferred over without issue. Not a fan of the reconfigured "Product Schedule" listings. What are your views of these changes ?

It's harder to navigate to what you actually want to see, by design I'm sure. No longer is there quick access to the data. They want you to have to take forever to scroll through giant photos and "Load More" clicks so that you shop more. I just wanted to go to the "Flowing Hair" medal page this morning and I gave up after about 20 clicks when it only took 4 or 5 previously.

It's how many sites are being developed these days. I want all my information in as few clicks as possible, but that's just not how things are being designed anymore. Being a commerce site, I'm sure it's revenue driven.

Yes I'm cynical and crotchety. Sometimes change is good, many times it is not.

Very impressed. Easy navigation, lots of information about coins, collecting, the mint and purchasing mint products.

I don't know about the rest of the site, but I preferred prior view of annual schedules where you could see all 2024 products in one page and just scroll down. Now, as CelticKnot said, you only see the first 9, then have to "load more" to see the next 9 etc until you see them all, inconvenient.

You can manually tweak the URL of the product schedule to see everything on one page, e.g. https://www.usmint.gov/product-sche...tmp=no&sz=75 -- start at zero, sz (size) more than the number of items. But it's still a grid instead of a list so harder to scan. (The URL I pasted included "start = 0" which got transformed to "statmp = no" for some reason, without the spaces, even in this parenthetical comment.)

I appreciate the larger images, but these are frankly too large, too much scrolling. I like the filter (product type) and that more prior years are available, but we could have gotten those with the old interface.

Shopping by metal type is a challenge too. You can't get there directly from the shop, the "bullion coins" page is just information without a link to the shop, and once you pick a metal type from the general page, you're locking in to that type and can't switch without going back.

This all feels like someone contracted out a redesign to someone with no knowledge or insight into the consumer base.

I do not.

Side note, Firefox version 1.0 was released 20 years ago on November 9th.

Checked out the updated site. My subscriptions, payment method, and order history are all intact. It is as I expected as only the front end of the website was changed.

They still won't let me change my login from an old email I don't use anymore. There's no good reason to keep that separate from the current email address.

I ran into something like that within the year. Took about 20 emails back and forth with their tech staff to finally get them to fix it.

Poor design and flow. The Mint could have borrow the ebay layout given the option to show in grid and list view, and at the bottom of page allow easier navigation. < 1 2 3 4 5 > Like ebay. And add a preference to show minimum of 25, 50 or more products per page.

Why reinvent the wheel?

Apparently everything has to be a mobile website even on desktop.
