Wonderful coin. I would send it off to CAC for stickering, a green bean on this one likely increases resale value 10-20%.

Most likely a really odd looking 1965 quarter. I wouldn't expect fire damage, under intense heat of a house fir3 for example, the copper and nickel usually begin to separate, you would likely see a slight bulge.

The "Book Value" of $42.00 is for accounting purposes. Given the fluctuations in PM values, a different value is only relevant upon sale. The quantity of gold in storage at Fort Knox and West Point is what matters, one can then calculate "value" at any given time using PM spot prices.

Very nice coin. The toning is extremely dark, which unfortunately, may hide some issues. On the other hand, properly conserved, it MAY be a very nice looking coin.
If you are not in too deep with the coin already, I would take a shot and send it to NGC and conserve.

Very poor strike on the reverse. A lot of chatter on both obverse and reverse, however not in the fields. Given that the fields are so sharp, I would grade 64/65.

I will say MS65+ RD. If it does grade higher, it nearly triple in value.

"Reviewed by a customer service agent." If you have ever tried to get a refund for illegal sales tax collection for coins and precious metals, you will likely be talking with five or six such agents and waiting two or three months.
eBay just doesn't care.

The first coin posted is likely a proof but not an accented hair variety and the second s a business strike. Neither coin is worth the grading cost unless you want them slabbed, authenticated and with a TPG grade.
