As is always the case with coin collecting, value, cost and beauty is in the eye of the individual collector. For me, pre 1970 US coins with a cameo contrast (Inclds deep cameo) are a beautiful depiction of the coin let alone a rarity. If possible and affordable, a cameo or deep cameo is preferable. In regard to the 1950 Lincoln, with a proof mintage of slightly over 50,000, finding a gem (65 up) red with cameo or deep cameo is a great pickup.
