If you are speaking of American coins of all denominations from 1792-2021, there are a few unique (meaning 1 known specimen) coins. One that comes to mind is the 1870-S three dollar gold. I am sure there are a few more that others can add.  |

How about something a little more obscure? The 1814 platinum half dollar pattern is unique.

Here's one that really shouldn't even exist. The 1894-S Proof Barber dime. No one knows exactly why they only struck 24, but one theory is that a mint audit showed a $2.40 cent discrepancy, and they struck the hand full of coins to make up the difference. Unique British coins include the pennies of 1808, 1952 and 1954 and the 1952 halfcrown. There are quite a few older coins of which only a single specimen is known, but there is a possibility that others may exist in old collections somewhere or waiting to be found by detector users!

There are lots of unique coins, especially within the areas of ancient and medieval numismatics.
Also unique are some modern patterns and mint trials. Some were never intended to leave the Mint, but they sometimes did, and become available to collectors.

Chuckster called it. The 1849 $20 coronet gold is unique and the only example is in the Smithsonian. Valued around $18 Million
