Thanks Skeletonwizard8 for putting up such a great array of prizes, most generous. The coin I would save would be my 1934/35 Melbourne Centenary Florin. It would be the most valuable coin in my small collection, but I just like the look of it. IMHO it's a good looking coin. Nothing to do with grade, just the look. Thanks again.

This one for sentimental reasons. An 1877-S Seated Liberty Half that was found in an envelope while cleaning out my mom's closet after she passed away. She had told me long ago that her grandfather had put a few coins away to pass along to the family but didn't know where they were. We found them and since I'm the only one interested in collecting I got to keep them. Also in the envelope were Shield nickels, large cents, Seated Liberty dimes and quarters, Two Cent Pieces, and various Barber coins, but this one was by far in the best condition.

...if your house was burning down and you could only choose one of your coins to save, which would you save and why? Thanks Skeletonwizard8 for putting up a cool contest. I'd grab the C-3PO 1 oz chibi silver coin to commemorate Star Wars Day 2022 (limited to 2,000). It is still made from 1oz of pure silver but has been plated in gold to resemble the lovable, anxious droid more closely. Because if the house was burning down... wait for it... We're Doomed!

Thanks for an awesome contest. I don't have any really expensive coins yet. Eventually I'd like to start building out some more high-quality sets, but none of my coins individually are worth a fortune that I'd need to protect it at all costs. If I had to pick one, I'd pick any of the Franklin half dollar proofs I have, even though I have coins that are worth more than that. I've just always been a really big fan of Franklins. Also, have fun in Ireland!

Interesting question. I would pick my 1858 Canadian one cent. This is the key date in the series. I purchased this in 2016. At the time it was the most money I had spent on a coin and also my first TPG coin. Getting this completed my one cent collection and was the start of me becoming more serious in numismatics. I apologize for the bad pics.

Such a generous contest and a chance to reflect on why we collect coins. I asked my child: This is the first coin I was really excited about that I won at the Youth (YN) ANA online auction after spending all year collecting YN$ through activities. -1941 P Netherlands East Indies 1/4 Guldan - BU Gem condition.

Hmmm, what to save if my house was burning down? A bit of a morbid thought, but a good exercise and creative idea. The one coin I would choose is my 1898 $10 gold eagle. Not because it has sentimental value, but because it is my largest and most expensive gold coin. Once my house, belongings, and coin collection is entirely burned to ash, I would sell the $10 and buy a few nice bust halves. I got this coin in a large collection that I purchased. Sold the bulk of the collection, but kept a lot of coins for "free" including this $10 and another $5 liberty. P.S. - Those are some generous coins to give away! I really like the classic coin bundle, because it has a capped bust dime and a love token. Gotta love those love tokens!! Congrats on the triple digits!
