Hello! I have this brass Chinese 10 cash, Y#301a. I believe this type is extremely rare and possibly a pattern issue. Here's a link to to the only sale of this coin I could find: https://auctions.stacksbowers.com/l...ecure-holder
I am wondering the value of this coin? Krause does not list values for it, though mine is in poor condition it must be worth something due to its rarity. Any ideas for extra research? Thanks!
First thing I pulled out was a proof SBA and a Christmas copper round, very cool gifts!
But the biggest surprise was a 1797 cartwheel penny! Amazing, I've always wanted one of these! Thank you so much Santa! Perfect addition to my collection
Hello, I have this 1866 1 Shilling coin, which under closer inspection, reveals die #63. Were all of the die #63 coins the error? My coin doesn't really show a pronounced 2nd B from what I can see. Thanks for any help.
This is an interesting thought I just had--- What is the longest period of time a circulating coin was minted for keeping the same design and composition? An obvious one is the Jefferson nickel minted for 66 years, from 1938 to 2003 (66 years) but I'm sure there are some other coins with even longer time spans! anyone know of any?
Well I would say this is pretty rare and almost certainly real. As to it's value, I would say at least a few hundred dollars but I can't find any die hubs of spanish reales. Maybe someone with more expertise can chime in.
