It's good that Don Bailey has those wonderful proofs for $84 each and proof-lovers should definitely jump on that one ASAP.

As for me... I just got the email (3:01am EST today) from Goldmart notifying me that they now have random year Libs in stock
for $29.38 each, so I'm going for a couple tubes of my beloved low-brow, secondary market bullion Libs.

Proofs may be the best but I don't find a cost of $84/coin to be the best, especially in view of encapsulated, cased proof ASEs
w/COA only costing $62 straight from the US Mint. I'm a stacker and I see more beauty in $29 random year, secondary market
bullion Libs than I see in $84 current year proofs. But, as always---"...to each his own..."

Dang! I went with Provident Metals only because Goldmart didn't have any in stock. Ah well, in the end and extra buck won't make much difference I suppose...

Not to worry, Barry! In the four hours after I pulled the plug on 3 tubes of Libertads, silver spot dropped 45 cents as if on command. Evidently, I haven't yet lost my "magic touch!"

Ah, sorry about that. I was hoping you hadn't pulled the trigger yet. I guess I should have waited a few days myself...

I am not a stacker, to me buying futures contracts and ETFs is the best way and allows me higher liquidity, allows me to hedge positions and is more flexible.

Longer term, to me, proof silver and gold coins are the best way to go. If I was going to set on physical coins, there's no doubt in my mind I would be buying proofs by the dozens. Not interested in coins that carry no premium to them.

As of now, I like to get singles and doubles of proofs, depending on how much I like the coin itself, so to me, Libertads, the proofs, are the best. But as you state, everyone has their thing, to me, I am just hung up on proofs for the most part.

Tho, I mean, I can make exceptions,,,, I love the Pandas, love the Somalian elephants,,, and these two aren't proof finish coins, tho they do make proofs of these,,, but in this case those are two types I make an exception where I am happy if ima not buying the proof.

Fat Freddy, you shouldn't feel too bad, they are already out of stock. That was a great premium to get them at, even if spot drops a little from here. I was looking to place an order of them myself, but they're gone.

Wow, that's amazing! I wonder how many they had in stock to begin with?

I always end up with a dose of post-purchase depression triggered by watching silver spot drop like a bowling ball in an open elevator shaft right after every
time I make a buy. But---at least this time the product went OOS about 5 hours after I made my move and the premium I grabbed these for was good, so
I'm not feeling as blue right now as I usually do. I guess that's a good thing. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket tomorrow and see how that goes...

Edit---Since this was one of their "mixed years" things, I suspect they came into a load of older secondary market Libs on a "one time" basis. I believe they
intend to start stocking current year ones, but they're not there yet. I'd guess there were a lot of us on that email notification list and when the herd saw a
$1.29 premium, there was a stampede that wiped out a limited inventory quickly. Well---here's looking forward to "next time."

Well, they are back in stock, but the premium is $1/oz more over what they were on Tuesday.

That must be to compensate for the spike in silver prices this week ?

They might have bumped the premiums due to how fast they sold out. Then again, it might be as simple as that was their 'Daily Internet Special.' Today it is 2012 silver pandas that are slightly cheaper than the 2013s.

I picked up a 2013 1 oz silver libertad proof from pat at Don Bailey the other day while I had a break at lunch. On a side note, I was so disappointed that they received just a handful of 2013 proof libertad gold set and its thats all she wrote :(

They do have 1/4 oz proofs, raw and graded.. which I am tempted to pick up a gold proof 2013 1/4 oz Libertad before I am moaning I didnt get one. These proof Libertads are hard to collect!

In other news... I just got my order of Libertads in the mail from provident Metals! They came packaged in a strange cardboard tube that was crimped on one end and sliced (and tape over) on the other end. I ordered 20 since that's standard for a single tube, but I'm guessing these are originally packed 25 (or more) to a tube originally.

Now I'm just waiting for my Kookaburras to arrive and I'll take a nice group shot of all my foreign bullion...

Libertads come in cardboard tubes of 20, both ends should be cripped one side should have a reflective tamper sticker. I'm waiting on the two tubes I bought from provident last week, really wanted a few more but it seems as is ASE have finally blown through my area. I managed to get 5 rolls eagles this week for an ave $28.50 per, first time since I have collected that I was able to get 100 ounces of eagles for less then 3k.
