Finally got my horrendously overdue Libertads from Goldmart late last week.

Up until now, Goldmart has treated me satisfactorily but I guess I must have graduated into another category with them, because they've made it clear they're
done treating me satisfactorily. I've always spoken well of them in the past, but they've made it impossible for me to do that any longer if I'm going to be honest.

I did the "direct cash deposit into Goldmart BOA account" payment thing. They didn't even have the courtesy to send me an email payment acknowledgement in
48 hours. I called them to complain and was treated like I was Public Enemy #1 by an officious little snip named Maria. After absorbing enough of her scolding,
schoolmarmish condescension to last me 100 lifetimes, I told her to put her supervisor on the phone. With an emphatically "you're trying my patience" attitude, she
reluctantly did so. After keeping me on hold for OVER 10 MINUTES, Nick the alleged manager finally got around to speaking to me. He told me in essence I
wasn't much of a priority and they'd try to process my order soon. I hung up on him in disgust and after that he called back and left an apologetic voicemail---
as if I could have cared less about what he had to say at that point...

They finally bothered to send my order out 5 DAYS after that call. The packaging was the crappiest job I've ever seen. The tubes were loose in the box with no
newspaper or styrofoam peanuts to keep them from crashing around. Exterior box taping was modest at best. I'm honestly surprised the box didn't break open
and end up with my coins bouncing and rolling all over the floor of some PO somewhere. BarryG---feeling a little "deja vu" here?

The time line was: 4/2=Order and direct bank acct cash deposit ... 4/4=Email+phone follow-up ... 4/4=Email payment acknowledgement ... 4/8=Email follow-up ...
4/9=Email follow-up ... 4/10=Order shipped ... 4/12=Order received. Note: the deposit was in BOA 2 hours before Goldmart opened for business that day.

Considering that I'm a well-established repeat customer and that I did a direct CASH deposit into their BOA account, I think an 8-day delay from payment to
shipping is inexcusable. In addition -- this happened BEFORE the big silver spot drop SHTF. Worse yet, another CCF guy I communicate with received his order
before I got mine. Funny thing was--AFTER I made my cash deposit payment, GM ran out of Libertad stock, THEN got Libs back in stock, THEN my friend made
his order and he STILL received his order before I got mine. This is my "Goldmart Customer Service Excellence Experience."

So... moral of the story is that Goldmart is just another bunch of nasty, "we couldn't care less if you live or die"--"take your business and shove it" schmucks.

If you'd like to see a real hotbed of Goldmart hatred, take a look in the PMBug forum Goldmart review thread. I used to think those guys were twisted, but now
I know better -- now I know that they're right.

Ugh Barry I am really sorry they treated you that way. I would complain about all of them but I gave up... my experince with Westminster Mint was the final thing for me, that they all suck so I don't even bother to complain.

In fact another reason I switched to any purchaes for collecting would be by credit card so that I am not held hostage and... I never had delivery issues or product delivery issues after making the switch to credit cards.

That said, they all suck, and I know the check gives you the best deal but then you have no leverage on them so forget them.

Again, I feel your pain and I am sorry they treated you that way. I think ima take them off my list as well after what you said here.

@havanacoins---The bag is the Casa de Moneda equivalent of the US Mint or RCM Monster Box. Where ASEs and CSMs come in square plastic tubes that are
packed in a plastic box, Libertads come in cardboard cylinders (that are security-taped on one end and crimped on the other end) that are shipped in a bag.

Wow, I had no idea that Fat Freddy's real name was Barry!

Really sorry to hear about your experiences with Goldmart, Freddy. I can honestly say I have rarely received my merchandise from them in the promised/advertised time frame (leading me to suspect they are a bit on the disorganized side at best and selling merchandise they don't actually have in stock at worst), but I have always received my shipments and they have always been polite to me when I have called them. It's frustrating that they advertise 2-day turnaround and two day shipping when somebody pays by wire and yet it always seems to take at least a week to get my stuff. But I shop there for the low prices, to be honest, and not for their quick shipping.

I don't know how I rank compared to some of their other customers, but I have purchased monster boxes from them as well as numerous 100-ounce silver bars, so maybe I get special treatment as a "big" customer when it comes to phone service? Regardless, there's simply no excuse to treat ANY customer the way you were treated.

Yeah ... I think my name (at least in Carson City NV) is "Public Enemy #1."

When I go to the trouble of:
1- Visiting my bank and grabbing a pile of cash;
2- Visiting BOA and depositing the cash into GM's account;
3- Going home, scanning an image of the deposit receipt and emailing that scanned image to Goldmart AND THEN phoning them to alert them to
the order, the cash deposit and the email that's in their inbox; ... and then ... They proceed to treat me as if I'd sent them a personal check in the mail...
That's when I start to get irritated by their arrogant "we couldn't care less" attitude.

The worst part of it all though was the way they packaged those Libertads. I suppose I should be thankful my coins didn't end up on the floor of some
USPS office somewhere between Goldmart and me. My grandchildren would probably be retired before that kind of mess got straightened out.

Not to worry, Yup -- I've been called infinitely worse things than Barry in the course of my travels!

On a Libertad-related note... This was the first time I ever saw a mint tube of Libertads, so that nasty old cardboard cylinder with one end taped mostly shut
and the other crimped end but still about 90% open was a new experience for me. Until now, I've been accustomed to those nice neat US Mint, RCM and
Austrian Mint tubes that ASEs, CSMs and Philharmonics are shipped in.

The Libertads I got (1985, but still in unopened mint "tubes") were comical. The last half-dozen nearest the crimped end of the cardboard tube were dirty and
the one at the end was just plain grimy. I felt like I should run the poor things through the dishwasher and the only reason I didn't is that I don't know which
dishwasher detergent is best for silver bullion coins. Martha Stewart's out of the can these days, right? Maybe I'll email her website and ask for some help here...

A side note if you don't like the cardboard lib tubes, 20 of them fit perfectly in SAE tubes. I just got 2 tubes from Provident, opened one to see the coins putting those back in a SAE tube leaving the other sealed from the mint. I guess its me but I like the crappy cardboard tubes.

@tbk---These were all 1985's, so they went into RCM tubes (@ a unique 23 per tube). They're almost sticky and I'm still thinking about doing something to take
at least some of the crud off of them. I think if I leave them as they are in the RCM tube for a period of years, they'll come out as a solid 23oz cylinder, looking
like a mid-80's Mex version of that fancy new 6oz Cook Islands $50 laser-engraved cylinder "coin." That might actually be cool, because these are the old style
with the edge-stamped lettering on them.

Oh yeah, I meant the newer coin not the 80's version. And I would def dip it if it were covered in crud, can't hurt a bullion coin IMO.

Yeah--The more I think about it, the more I think this batch is going through a short acetone bath. That stuff takes the paint off of ASEs, so it should take the gunk off of these.

What I find the most humorous of all, is that Yup assumed this was Barry's nightmare, lol....

Seems like Gold-mart ran him through the ringer to and then some if memory serves me right, as it rarely does lol....

I despise MOST big CORPORATIONS with a PASSION. Let it be known I wish most of them failure in the long run and if their is a God as I suspect there is, I will have my way in the end and all who runs them unjustly will answer for their many countless crimes, karma or whatever you wanna call it....

They will die like myself and the rest of us and all of their wealth they TIGHTLY stashed away while helping no one but themselves is gonna change that fact. And someone else will spend it all and that FACT makes me happy....

They all don't care about the human which pays their bills, just another aggravation....

That is why I will take my business to a Mom and Pop store (The people who built this country and made it great to begin with) and give them my business any day before I will the big corps of the world, but that is just me....
