Nice coins from all of you!

I don't have a Phocas coin of any kind; I think I do have something from Maurice Tiberius, but I'm not sure if it's from the right period or not.

I might try to participate later, however.

That is a great coin @arnoldoe! Lots of detail remaining on both sides. That officina letter on the rev kinda looks like an eagle rather than an alpha, gamma, or eta.

I'm really glad that we can now move on to the decade of the 580s AD starting tonight at midnight CCF time.

Following on from Arnoldoe's Maurice Tiberius I have his half-brother.

Regnal year 5 dates it to 587ish and it is obviously the half-follis denomination as indicated by the K.

Almost the exact same coin is in my collection (Sear #497):

Post your coins from the 580s today as we move on to the decade of the 570s tomorrow!

Nice Follis David! Here is a Drachm from the Hephthalite Empire that was minted between 570 and 580 AD. It has a beetle countermark.

Starting at midnight tonight, we can drop down once again--this time to the decade of the 560s. In the meanwhile, be sure to post your coins of the 570s. I hope to see a bunch more Byzantine coins!

No no no! You need more Byzantine coins...like this half follis from 577/578 AD issued by Justin II and Sophie attributed as Sear #370. It is a (half) brother to the one you posted earlier today.

I had some Tiberius Constantine coins, but I was sadly too busy to take a photo in time for posting any.

Does anyone have a Tiberius Constantine? Preferably with an early date and/or without a visible one (so that it would fit into the 570s).

Nice half follis @VK--that makes four coins from the 570s! Others should feel free to post more coins from the 570s while we wait a little for a coin from the 560s.

I do have a coin from the very early 560s (I think: the date is a bit hard to read though but appears to be at least RY 32).
Justinian I, Decanummi, Constantinople Mint

The condition isn't great, but the portrait style is one of the nicer ones I've seen of this coin at this date.

Looks like either RY 27 or 37 to me; the former (which looks more likely) would put it in the 550s.

That's an awfully weird Constantinople mintmark though...
