Rob- sorry if I came off as hostile or condescending. I had nothing but the best intentions.

robcabob - I think you may have solved the mystery. Coin displayed has same worn features, crisp 194 and the floating, CCW, blunt 3. Your specimen has different toning but looks to be produced from the same counterfeit tooling.

From the strike and the rim, there is little doubt to me that this is a wholly manufactured counterfeit.
A real 1943 penny was not struck this way, but modern Chinese counterfeits are.

This coin came from an estate sale, from Canada.
That coin I was showing you is NOT what I have. I Was just asking what the coins in the link were.
I show you some crazy item for sale and now you're telling me mine is completely counterfeit, just because of a link to an Item that is counterfeit?
Suddenly now, it's being denied being a penny at all? after the notion that the last number was completely rubbed off and that a new number was soldered on. Meaning this penny could be 194x anything. but you throw the full on counterfeit claim. Why? if it's any other year, there could have been a defect. You're falling back under the notion that the coin has to be perfect. there is a 9 year span this coin could have come from

Now I'm starting to not like forums. Putting a link up to coins then members acting like that's my coin? To Hastey and imaginative. REAL penny, RUBBED OFF last number, SOLDERED 3; if not true. use photos, draw arrows, label issues. That will help me learn. I mean if you want to be helpful

Rob, people are giving you their honest opinions and not all opinions will be the same. I have posted one thing on threads and then seeing the responses may have changed my mind as I gathered additional knowledge. So many pictures have been posted on this thread it is getting difficult to keep what is yours straight. If you do not want honest opinions, I would recommend sending it to a TPG and just being done with it.

I can only commend on the pictures I see. If this is not your coin I can't judge your coin, as I haven't seen it. :-)
The coin just posted is a counterfeit and it matches the coin in the AliBaba listing, and there's no antagonism in saying this.
Once I have the time I can draw up a profile. But typing one-thumbed into an iPhone makes that tricky. :-)

How about starting your own thread with your coin/coins instead of using a thread somebody else started over 2 years ago.It is a little confusing

What is difficult? Last but not least, The claims of a full on counterfeit came AFTER I posted the fake 1943's for sale. Acting as if that is where I got it. My post was turned into a joke just because I inquired about an item for sale on the internet. The assumptions are the reason I am starting to not like the forum. Notice how when debunking prior to listing the link, everything was good? Then link, then full counterfeit accusation....... Is my logic lost here?

Seeing the full pictures, I am thinking a struck counterfeit.
See, some of us are *experts* in numismatics, and you got Steve commenting about your coin. Steve's an expert on counterfeit, fake coins; you can see his collection by clicking on the link.
We are doing the best as we can and sharing as much of our information; and yet you are saying that you don't like the forums because the members are telling you the truth, which is *obviously* hard-to-accept for you. We couldn't tell you good news all the time.
You should have made a new thread for your coin; the reason is obvious. It is a totally different coin, and it would lead to a totally different discussion, although it may be of the same topic. We don't really like resurrecting old threads around here. I want to ask you: Why NOT make a new thread?
And, the fact that it came from a Canadian estate sale doesn't matter a single bit. There are SO many ways that a Chinese fake could have made its way into the sale.
The experts knew that there was something fishy about a coin, and then you posted a link to the same type of counterfeit which nailed down the status of the coin: counterfeit. They were sure before and you nailed it down. That doesn't make the experts any less knowledgeable. You will have a hard, hard time finding a community as knowledgeable as CCF. If you do, you will probably get similar replies.
Don't waste your money in slabbing. It is counterfeit, and unfortunately that is a fact that couldn't be changed by any type of arguing. If you decide not to listen to honest, helpful words of experienced numismatists, why did you even post it here?
If you were to keep saying and arguing that the coin is genuine despite the expert opinions, why did you ask for authenticity verification in the first place?
Look at all the posts here made by experienced members, oozing with experience and knowledge, and you will regret making bad comments about CCF, because we aren't bogus people that tell lies.
Sometimes you just got to accept the truth and listen to the pros. That way you will learn.

Quote: no freedom of speech in forums I see That is correct. I own this place and there are rules every member must follow. Refuse and you will be shown the door. Quote: What was edited by staff? No profanity was used..... wonder what it was...? You know exactly what you did, you wrote it. You personally attacked another member by insinuating they were doing something illegal. If you can't debate without getting personal, this is not the place for you.

Quote: The claims of a full on counterfeit came AFTER I posted the fake 1943's for sale. No, once you posted full photos of both sides your coin and not just a date, it was blatantly obvious that you have a struck counterfeit instead of an altered genuine coin. Quote: Now I'm starting to not like forums. Why? because no one is telling you what you want to hear?

Notice how when debunking prior to listing the link, everything was good? Then link, then full counterfeit accusation....... Is my logic lost here? Yes, because it's only logical for people who don't know coins. The moment your full-face images were posted, any numismatist could easily see it was a fairly poor counterfeit. Maybe this is a first for you, but we see dozens of these a year. Quote: Why start a whole new thread when this already exists? What's confusing?
You obviously know very little about forum etiquette, and you're not going to like forums until you do. What you did is called "necro-ing" a thread, and it's a major breach of etiquette. And for the record, online forums are private property, as upheld by substantial legal precedent. The rules are what the owner says they'll be, and the owner here has instituted a very conservative ruleset because we cater to the beginning collector. If you want some real abuse, go to some place like the PCGS Forum and dispute the opinions of the people who reply there when you post this coin. Then you'll see what abuse is like.

I also agree this is a counterfeit. Now, the coin you showed the pictures, front and back, of is indeed counterfeit.
But I would recommend reading our forum's rules so we can all gain knowledge and discuss our coins in a peaceful manner.
