Purchased as a die clash on ebay. The reverse seems to display the clash strongly. I don't know if the obverse die was polished—there are certainly a lot of die scratches—or whether it was swapped out.

Quite possibly this coin from MAD Die Clashes, or another similar clash. The notes there say that the obverse die seems relatively clean.

These usually accompany further clashes on the obverse, in this case mostly have been removed from the die, as fine hairy die scratches are visible in front of the Mouth, Eye, Nose arch and back of the Neck due to die abrasion . Good catch.

Very nice reverse clash Brand, and I agree with you that the obverse die may have been changed out (Possibly due to the clash?)

Nice clashing!

You can see multiple areas on the obverse that point to a previous clash and the odds of them trading out the obverse for the worn out die it is, is unlikely.
