I have been holding this penny for a while. I would like to know what you guys think of it. Weak strike, or could it be a die pressure adjustment? Or is it nothing? Either way I think it's a cool looking penny in my collection.

It's just been ground down. The heavy scratching is a dead giveaway.

Looks like a coin that has been in a parking lot. We see a lot of these and has no extra value, it is a damaged coin.

Should be underweight as a decent amount of material has been abraded away.

Yes, post-strike damage--abrasion. Keep it as a fun curiosity.

It is a damaged coin, but if you like it you should keep it, especially as a reference piece for later comparison. It will help you learn.

I agree - a damaged coin.

Do you have a scale? If not think about purchasing one that measures in grams with resolution to 2 decimal places. Should cost less than $25.

A scale is a really helpful tool - and would show this cent is underweight due to the metal loss.
