I'm documenting a fake IOM 1976 Crown comparing it to a genuine copper-nickel and silver coin. The dark brownish / bluish toning on the silver coin (to me) is outstanding in that the profile seems to be highlighted.

It seems a strange coin to fake (though I have seen even stranger ones in tourist shops in China). Is it the US Bicentenary or the Horse Tram commemorative?

The fake horse tram and the genuine copper-nickel horse tram are not shown.
The coin shown is authentic silver horse tram.

Do you have the fake?

Yes- that's what I am documenting.
I bought the two good coins for weights, measures & photos.
My hobby is the collection of fakes then making albums comparing the bad coins to authentic coins whenever I can get them.
The toning on the silver was just an unexpected surprise that I thought looked pretty neat making the Queen really stand out from the field.

It is visually quite striking. Like a circulation cameo minus the circulation. What does the reverse look like?

The reverse of the silver coin has a dingy film on it that many probably have seen before, but no color like the obverse.
Here's the obverse of the fake coin. The letters look a bit thin and wobbly.
NOTE: I edited to add that I used MS-70 on the reverse of the silver coin and it worked beautifully! No grunge. No dingy film. The surface is highly glossy perfect silver! Even cameo but not shown in this photo. (Just the effects of MS-70 removing the dingy film)

Very interesting, Albert. Thank you for sharing that photo. Your silver crown is gorgeous! It's a shame about the reverse (I have coins with the same issue).

It goes without saying, the fake cannot hold a candle to the real thing.
