1949-S New Member United States 33 Posts	Posted 01/26/2025 02:39 am Just picked this coin up on ebay and purchased it for review and possible return. The grade looks to me that it could maybe be XF but the toning I know nothing about. I'd hate for it to come back from grading as damaged. Is the discoloration naturally occurring (in which case might be a positive) or is it man-made in which case the coin goes back to the seller. Your thoughts on grading and the toning would be very much appreciated! Report this Post to the Staff

Zurie Pillar of the Community United States 5189 Posts	Posted 01/26/2025 03:15 am On a circulated coin like this, that kind of toning suggests a past cleaning and retoning. I'd say it has VF-35 sharpness, but details from a past cleaning and the obverse scratches. Report this Post to the Staff
