Yes. Weight or diameter can be the same as genuine- so it matters not to me. To clarify a statement from above, I do not use SG to determine an alloy. I use it (along with other confirming tests) to verify that a suspect coin is not the proper silver. I may not know what it is, but I'll know what it is not.
