This is the second silver coin I bought from the coin dealer and am wondering if anyone can identify this coin. It appears to be made of silver, weighs 2.64 grams and has a diameter of about 15 mm. Thanks for any help.

@dwa, first welcome to CCF. Second, I don't think that you have a Byzantine coin here. Rather it is from the Western Satraps of the Indo-Scythian Empire. The date is off flan as it is behind the bust. Here is a link to a numista entry for a similar coin (but perhaps different satrap.

Western Kshatrapas.

A cross-check of the visible lettering (especially the descender shapes) with the Beginner's Guide and the Coin India listings suggested that we're probably looking at a coin of Damajadasri III, i.e. Numista 70894.
(...It took me embarrassingly long to figure out that the unconnected arc visible at 4h is actually the crescent moon in the central design, and not part of the lettering.)

Unfortunately, as correctly pointed out, the date is pretty much off flan, at 9h on the first pic. It's fairly rare for a Western Kshatrapas coin to have a legible date.

Gentlemen, thank you so very much for lending your expertise to me to identify this coin. It looks like it was quite a challenge and took some time to research. Best wishes to all of you!
