I got the 2024 limited edition set today and thought I'd do my typical yearly OGP update (when it's needed). And this year was an even bigger change than last year. It may be an improvement, but I'm still on the fence a little.
As you can see, they did shrink it a bit in every dimension. It may make it a bit easier to store and still has a premium feel that's warranted for the price.
So the outer sleeve is present, but once you open it, there isn't a box with a lid as there used to be, it's now more like a hinged lid. There is a precedent for this; they used hinged lids from the beginning up until 2020 (the last time). In 2021 ( the year with 2 ASEs in it), they kept the box, but no hinged lid. Inside was just the flocked black tray, which we became accustomed to even with the individual proof ASE boxes. So without the hinged lid, you'd think it was a downgrade, but really I do like the hinged lid being back an overall slicker feel. Sort of like less being more.
Also the black flocking is gone and has some sort of a gray pattern design. In 2020 the was a printed great flag motif which I believed they used with only minor variation since the beginning of this set.

Yep, I noticed the slight change in the packaging - even before I went and compared it to my 2023 (and beyond) LESP Sets.
here is mine

What does that background look like to you? To me it just looks like some random nonsensical design. I looked it better with the flag design

Great pictures Gilly and Dearborn! Yes they are very attractive sets. In my opinion the 2024 packaging shows off the coins better than the 2023.
