I'm wondering IF a person was to list THAT set, What would be considered the Going Rate, One shot deal........ Should be more than the stated value....

Ah, ok, on that I'm not sure of how much - but I'm sure it would be substantially more than my 'purchase' price for sure.

Well my first 6 are done - Just got an email with the results of the grading:

Cert #, PCGS #, Description, Grade
46487180, 9802, 1986-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR69DC
46487181, 9809, 1987-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR68DC
46487182, 9817, 1988-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR69DC
46487183, 9827, 1989-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR68DC
46487184, 9837, 1990-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR69DC
46487185, 9847, 1991-S $1 Silver Eagle, DCAM, PR69DC

Not a single 70 in the lot. not bad grades, but not what I was hoping for.

Interesting. I suppose it could have been worse, right?

Yeah I imagine you were shooting for 69s and 70s. Bummer. These were purchased aftermarket?

PR69DCAM is also a good drade, but 68 upsets me it can be considered a very bad graded.
let's hope that other coins will be valued better.

I agree, not liking the 68's much - I can accept the 69's just fine.
When I'm all done with the grading process, I may go back and search out new better graded coins that are 69 or better (most likely, I'll replace them with 70's though) But that can wait until I'm done.

IMO that is the risk of purchasing aftermarket in OGP. There is a very good chance of the coins either being (mis)handled or cherrypicked.

However, I understand that was your only option. It will also be my only option when I go to fill in proofs for my collection pre-1997, so I will probably be in the same boat.

Yeah, I do hate having to buy like that - especially no coin-in-hand to view properly, but that is the way it goes sometimes. I will continue to get them all graded and post the results no matter how they grade..

Good luck with the rest of your ASE's. Here's to hoping they're all 69s and 70s.

I'm waiting for the mail today - my first 6 graded ASE's are due to be dropped off.

Well they are in my hand. I'll get some good pictures of them tomorrow. The great thing is that because of my vouchers, PCGS only charged me $43.00 for grading of all 6 coins..
