Bobby, I've sent you a PM regarding a slight immaterial modification of the selling rules you might find useful.

I have a whole lot of items I would like to unload. Is it possible/allowed for me to ask individuals to send me an e-mail and I will send them an excel file of everything I have?
Rest in Peace

I doubt it. But I love buying from fellow CCFers! I've spent mucho dinero here.

ETA: THE password is 'I'm not Dave, man'. Honest we have used it often. If you ever met him, you would understand. He would call and ask if he could come over, when you said yes the doorbell would ring.

Ah excuse me please ..... Dave's not here was heard by this ole' boy, well over 60 years of age ..... Back to subject matter ......

This Forum could be a big help for an "old boy" like me trying to dispose of common duplicates without dreaded "auction fees" and in turn help others get good value!

I guess I'm not fully understanding the rules about what can/cannot be sold. I now have met the requirements (250+ posts, 90 days member), and am not a big fan of ebay or Craig's list type venues, having been stood up once and was attempted to be robbed on the 2nd craigslist venture. Nor am I able to utilize a booth type venue, too difficult w/ disability. What I have for sale is multiples of a product. I currently have 15-1,000+ bags of wheat cents, a variety of Lincoln and Jefferson starter sets I would like to sell for a set price, no auctions at this time. Is this acceptable?

Sniping is allowed. The Staff is not going to try and sort out what is sniping and what isn't. Ever. The last valid highest bid wins. Coin Community is not responsible for late bids no matter what the reason is, or you think it is. Members complaining about sniping, in public or private, will be suspended for two weeks for the first offense.

When I read that, I thought, "That does not sound like CCF. How strange..."

I was assuming that the word snipe in this context meant "to make petty complaints attacking someone."

Because the rule (Sniping is allowed) did not fit with the family-friendly ethos of CCF, and since GIYF, I proceeded to investigate the possibility that sniping meant something else in the auction context.

Sure enough, I learned that "Auction sniping is the practice, in a timed online auction, of placing a higher bid than the current highest public bid at the last possible moment (often seconds before the end of the auction), giving the other bidders no time to outbid the sniper."

I thought I would share this little learning experience in case other noobs like me did not understand the term.

~ Mark

P.S. Auction sniping is not to be confused with nerd sniping.

I would like to suggest that an age minimum be considered as a rule as some members are minors (some "very minor").

All,

Any thoughts about reducing the minimum number of posts to be able to post items from sale from 250 to perhaps 100 or 150 ? Or maybe a combination of a smaller number of posts and "time as a member"... maybe 250 posts and 6 months, or 100 posts and 12 months for example?

I have been a fairly active member of CCF for almost a year.. reading posts several times a week and posting and replying fairly frequently. Over a year, I have hit 150 posts, which is more then 10 posts a month on average...

I am just a "hobby collector", so I am not in here all the time, but would love to post some items I have for sale for CCF instead, but it could be another 6 to 9 months for me to hit 250 posts unless I just go in and make silly/pointless "I agree" responses to other threads, which seems a bit pointless.

I can post on ebay and then post a link, but I would like to avoid ebay fees (and time/effort) if possible.. and offer directly for sale on CCF..

Just a suggestion..

Regards,

Michael

You may not use any wording that suggests getting around Paypal fees whatsoever, including asking for additional money to cover them.

What about using PayPal's send money to Friends and Family feature? It has
Quote:
No fee when you use bank or balance to send in the U.S.

Since we're all "friends" on the CCF, it seems like you can use PayPal without any PayPal fees. Also, if the buyer does want to use a CC with PayPal then the PayPal fee is charged to the sender and not the receiver of the funds. So, the buyer would pay the PayPal fee and not the seller.

What do you think? is friends and family allowed?

No. It's a purchase transaction and Paypal is entitled to their fees. To avoid them is not right and I will not allow this site be a party to it. Any listing that mentions it, as always has been, will be removed.

You get to sell here completely free, so please just suck it up.

I posted an ad for 2 1883 GSA CC dollars yesterday. This morning I noticed they were removed. Can you tell me why? Thanks Jerry
