So torn right now...

I have the proof sets for the American Innovation Dollars.

But... now that reverse proofs are in a set and not individual... should I continue my regular proof sets? Or switch to the reverse proof?

Collect both. I for one am glad they they turned the RP into a set. Big waste of packaging for just one coin IMO. Especially considering it's no bigger than a quarter.

Just looked it up on the mints site to see if they had a price yet and gotta admit I like it even more now. I think the black background will really make the coins "pop". Plus the $28 price is less than I was expecting. A win-win.

Continue the regular proof and add the reverse proof so you have both. This is my plan now. Maybe.

Wait a few years and maybe the previous singles will be available at bargain prices.

I agree. In fact I'm sure both the proof and RP set will both be available at less than current cost. Too bad my gotta have it now mentality won't let me wait that long.

I agree! With the four coin sets at least.

I have been debating to start collecting the reverse proofs. I didn't like they were not in a set. Now, I will probably get the previous RP and the current. I noticed on the Mint site; I am able to purchase the 2019 and 2020 RP from them.

I noticed there is a 50K product and mintage limit. How fast does anyone think they will sell?

I don't think they'll sell out. It's not that popular of a series. A lot of people liken these to game tokens. Maybe the change to a RP set will garner a bit more interest but not enough to sell out. I mean look at this thread. There's only three of us that are really looking fwd to this lol!

I just have U.S. Mint fatigue after all the ASE, Morgan, annual releases and price hikes this year so don't really feel much like commenting.

However, I'll be getting/continuing RP via the 4-coin set. I didn't do the regular proof sets but might do that since it seems that all the previous proof sets are still available for purchase via the US Mint site.

IIRC there is a topic with a member here that collects PDSS of these coins and has them nicely displayed in a CAPS (I think) album. I'll have to dig it up.

No clue who that is.

(I think there's actually a few of us.)

Got order confirmation from regular proof enrollment. Still thinking I will add the reverse proof set this year.

I went ahead and added it to my enrollments. It's two jbucks more than the proof set, and much cheaper than 2019 and 2020 set of 4.

They only sold 3800 proof sets today after 15 minutes, and 94% of stock remained at that point. They didn't even turn on the website anti-dos/bot protection today. I will be surprised if the other rp set is significantly more popular. I'm not collecting this series, but I liked one of the four coins, so I bought it.
