Quote: I don't know if that's normal or not. I knew the answer but asked the rep anyway, if I requested replacement what would happen if none are in stock. He said I'd get a refund. Then I said I don't want to get a replacement that has been returned and put back in stock. He said no, returns are not put back in stock, they are sent to be melted. Does anyone know if there is a stated mint policy not to restock returns?
When I returned my one of my Peace Proofs, I was told the same thing. Returns are not recycled but destroyed (melted). Only bad thing is, for my return, they will not send a replacement, you will need to purchase another set. If no sets are available, you will not get a replacement. |

Received my 2 Peace Dollars this past Saturday. Both proofs have a flaw on the reverse in the same spot. There is a small spot of Cameo missing on the wing above the eagle's leg. Both have it in the exact spot and shape, very surprising. I will post a picture as soon as I get my new microscope camera. I went ahead and ordered another proof. I am debating if I should send both these back and order one more proof. It looks like there are 76k still available. Would this kind of flaw be desirable at a later date? I am thinking no.
Received both my proof Morgans today and they are perfect. |

I am not as ambitious as Dearborn. My purchase plan: Proof sets - silver and clad - 1 each Innovation - proof and reverse proof - 1 each All ASE - 1 each Armed Forces silver medals - 1 each Liberty silver medal - 1 each All Peace dollars - 2 each All Morgan dollars - 2 each
I would have purchased the proof commemorative dollars and halves if they had them this year. Since they don't it will give me some money to finish up my commemorative collection. Only 13 proof dollars and 2 proof half dollars to go.
I am looking forward to seeing the reverse proof Peace Dollar and Morgan.
