Hi Wulhar.....Wow you-ve got yourself 3 very rare coins there! Congrats..

1st coins looks to be a match to this coin on zeno...Paramanuka (1155-65 AD)
https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=118198

2nd coin looks to be a match to an unknown ruler....
https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=135868

3rd I'm not sure at the moment....

Sorry I'm rushing this as at the moment I'm running all day skype classes for the students..
Give me a bit of time and I'll see what I can dig up maybe tonight......

Very interesting though, thanks for sharing.....Paul

Actually, this coin has been wrongly attributed to Paramanak on Zeno as well. There is an akshara on the far left lower field- 'Ti'. Might read as Parmanati. Many collectors have ignored this letter and proceeded to call it Paramanak. At least, that what I have seen.

Hi Wulhar.....This weekend will have a chance to work through these properly..
Any chance you could post closer more in focus photos?....

Your stating Parmanati.....Which rulers do you think these coins are from?

I will certainly be able to throw some different ideas into the melting pot that we could maybe work together on and try to come up with something...What do you think?....It will be quite interesting..Paul

Thanks Paul. I look forward to sharing more coins that I came across. There are many rulers with only one character and these coins are difficult to attribute to any one particular ruler.

I have shared this image where you have very beautifully illustrated the obverse die. Could you kindly share which web tools did you use to do this? It looks very difficult to draw with a mouse pad. Did you use a stylus or something?

Thanks in advance.

@palouche, I hope you don't mind me adding a recent pick-up of mine (Bhima Gupta) to your thread. It's only my second coin of Kashmir, but I've been finding some inspiration from some of your work here and @drnsreedhar's thread:

I just use 'paint' and zoom up big it makes it easier...

@Wular....The 3 coins you've shown are really nice!..And very rare!
I'm sorry I can't pinpoint the names of these rulers but saying that neither can 'anyone else'!
Couple of thoughts...
1.Usually the legends on each side of Lakshmi are read together like the legend variants of Jayasimha see
(page 4 of this thread). This would make your coin read 'Sri Pati' Rama deva...or Raja deva...Both known rulers.......I'm just throwing ideas around here..If its read left to right and the symbol after the Sri is a 'Va' which is also a possibility...Could read 'Sri Vartti Deva' another known ruler...

Below is a link that you'll find interesting and helpful....It gives the readings of a lot of coins..
It mentions the 'double Sri' coin and the above coin although it doesn't state a ruler...

Hope this helps and gives you a few ideas which I'd like to hear...Paul

Hi Palouche. I just came across your thread about the more "modern" Kashmir coins. I have this one that I can't seem to find a match for on Zeno. About 17mm at the widest and 5.5g. Any thoughts?

I picked up a couple of more coins from Kashmir this week. Hoping you had some insight. The bottom coin has more obscured details but I believe it's also from Kashmir.

This coin is 5.3g and 20.2mm.

This coin is 5.4g and 17.6mm.

Thanks!

A quick recap...
Zain-ul-abdin 1418-1470...........Hasan Shah AD 1472-1484.....

Next up Muhammed Shah and Fath Shah...
The previous Sultan 'Hasan Shah' died in AD1484 due to his excessive indulgence of alcohol and the good life!. But before dying called for Sayyid Hasan his Wazir (a high-ranking political advisor or minister) who was also his wifes father! He asked Sayyid to recall Adham's (his ex Wazir) son 'Fath Shah' back from exile in the Punjab to be his successor instead of his own son 'Muhammad Shah' due to him being a minor, but left the final decision to his Queen. The Queen initially agreed with Hasan Shah but on his death on April 19th 1484 had changed her mind (probably something to do with daddy) and placed her own son 'Muhammed Shah' on the throne at the ripe old age of 7...
Over the next 53 years, power would revert back and forth continually between these two Sultans, Muhammad Shah (a Sayyid) who had five different reigns and Fath Shah (a Chak) who had three.
Muhammed Shah..Five reigns
1484-1487
1499-1505
1514-1515
1517-1528
1530-1537
Fath Shah...Three reigns
1487-1499
1505-1514
1515-1517

Here's the set so far....

Just went through all the posts in this thread. What a wonderful journey. I am about to start collecting Kashmir coins and I am halfway through reading this pdf. Maybe you all know about this already, but if you dont, then this has a nice long history of Kashmir kings in the 10th century.

Love this thread and hope to join you all in this journey soon.
