My first coinstar finds worth sharing! I hope you guys share yours. I know I have seen some pretty impressive ones, like an american 2 cent. Mine are no where near that, but still very fun for free finds!

I saw a bunch of people drop in at least $25 in pennies, a lot more in other coins, but when I got there all they had left was a massive gatoraid bottle of pennies and some small stuff. Looked like they had been there a while though. It took forever for them to finish, and I was excited because I could HEAR things dropping into the reject tray.
I love where that tray is positioned, because people don't notice it!

So in it I found 9 coins and a token, they are:

1963 Republic of colubia diez (10) centavos
1953 canadian nickel
3 rusty steel cent, one not so bad, one REALLY bad, but my only steel cents so I'm pumped
1 Wheat penny beat up beyond much recognition
3 zinc pennies in shambles
1 ny centro bus token ($2 fare, but I don't know if they use tokens these days, never ridden on one)

I keep all my MD finds, the ones from today I'll take to the bank with everything else. A penny is still a penny, even if beat up! I have seen folded quarters in tellers trays. It's all money. Its the treasury that is supposed to take damaged money out of circulation, so I look at it as creating jobs is America :P

I found a similar token, the same except a student fare (mine is just an adult fare). It didn't give info though, just pics.

I heard all the tails of silver finds from Coinstar reject tray. My first time, I was at the grocery store. I walked over to the Coinstar machine, stuck my hand in it and felt three tiny dime size-ish objects. I quickly pulled them out - anticipating 3 silver dimes - only to discover three zincons.

Oh well.

I will turn in a lot of cents for a no-fee credit for a store I need to shop at. One time, when I checked for my rejected coins, I pulled out a silver dime from the reject tray and thought I had somehow dropped one of mine in with the cents, and was a bit miffed with myself. Then another time, the same thing happened, only I got a nickel-looking foreign coin, and I knew that it had not come from my bag.

Later, I read somewhere else that someone saw inside a coinstar machine and that some rejects were stuck inside. I wonder if, while dumping my cents, those two coins happened to be someone else's rejects that got stuck in the machine, and happened to get knocked loose by my coins to drop down into the tray.

Anyone else experience this?

I might dump some stuff just to see if random coins will fall out.
