GOLKONDA
Golkonda was established by a military officer of the Bahmanis, Quli Qubt Shah. Hence the lineage is known as Qutb Shahis. They ruled from their capital at Golkonda, near Hyderabad. The state fell to Aurangazeb in 1687. But soon it became the capital citadel of the princely state of Hyderabad.
Coins of the last two Sultans are generally available. Abdulla Qutb shah issued coins with a fixed date - 1068 - on his coins. All his coins bear the same legend. But the calligraphy is different and the diversity in the presentation of the monotonous legend is stunning.
