It's great to win a contest but it's fun to just enter one. It's all good no need for a second place prize. John1  ( I'm no pro, it's just my humble opinion )

Thanks Dearborn for putting on this contest. It was a fun read even though I didn't check in soon enough to add to the count. A nice simple contest and the rule seemed easy enough. Simple rules make determining first place easy. Doh!!  (No poke any anyone at all, just a little chuckle about how the simplest things can go awry. Happens all the time in remodeling.) Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

(as I stated up above) The last 2 that I declared as a violation was due to the person posting did it on purpose with a comment like "not an entry (or something like that) most likely to move the contest on, and I decided to have fun with that knowledge. Now, Why must some folks just tear apart everything someone does, when the purpose was to just be generous and give back to someone. I got the email from the winner were, with a thanks you statement, and said that he would pass on these coins to his grandkids in an attempt to get them interested in collecting. I think that was a great thing to do. When was the last contest/give-a-way that you did? I have no idea and may have to go back and look - hmm, it was just a game, no prizes, and that was back in 2018. I shouldn't have to explain every motive I have for doing something.

Dearborn, Thank you for having a contest,a lot of members never hold a contest/giveaway but should. All members receive from CCF but do not give back. I hope all this drama does not deter you in the future like it has me. Now about that 1995-W  John1 ( I'm no pro, it's just my humble opinion )

Dearborn great contest with all the right intentions . No body won millions or lost millions . And when you hear what nfine is going to do with them just makes it easier to know that it turned out the way that it should have. Well done in all aspects

And also nothing against JOHN1 I thought he had won but was unaware of the rules violations. For I was at work trying to pay attention but not doing a very good job of who was posting

It was not my intent to "tear apart" anything, but I thought some might wonder about why you deviated from your own rules. You explained it, just as I expected you to do.
I applaud you for having this give away, and in no way was I discouraging you or anyone else from having more of the same.

Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate them. I like giving out prizes and stuff from time to time. I think it a just a darn thing to do. a few years ago, (some might remember) I gave away 3 very nice prizes - (one of which was a complete LESPS). and a few others too. From time to time I sell off items of mine just to 'make room for new stuff , but I prefer to give them up to folks here. Well for me It is time for me to set up my smoker and get my 2 chickens and 2 turkeys in it and get them cooking... See you on the battle fields!  |

Dearborn, can you confirm or deny the recent rumors that there will be a second secret giveaway at the 225th post level? And with the prize being a very well worn 1906 Liberty nickel in a dirty envelope?  Alright, seriously, please don't , I enjoyed this one, it was unique and fun and thanks for running it. |

 Well done but I don't see my invitation anywhere to the smoked turkey/chicken dinner last night. Hope it was tasty. Maybe that can be your next contest prize?  (And here's what seems to happen when I sit around a smoker.  )
