Sure don't hear about this often. That's why I was happy to share!

I'm glad there are occasionally happy endings to the sad stories that appear in this forum.

I'm retired now, graduated high school in 1972. You know how it goes, some things will be gone and some added. I salute the police officers that solved this mystery. Big atta boy.

The story didn't say how the drug dealer acquired the coins. Odds are the dealer only got them recently from some junkie who stole them from a collector. So was that collector the thief of '72 or had he purchased them say at a car boot sale and added them to his collection along with more purchases over the years (like the bicentenary coin). Odds are there is a collector out there who was an honest dupe and now he will never get his coins back.

Outstanding! I love it when long lost items are recovered and given back to the rightful owners. P.S. By any chance does anyone know what was recovered? Just FYI. Great story; made my morning. MJH

The coins minted after the date they were stolen are "interest".
