G'day Earle42,

I get asked about these all the time and would love to be able to use your picture of all the coins and diagram of the dryer as illustrations. Are you able to put your Monika on those so they are attributed to you?

Or if you can't edit, perhaps you can post new pictures here with the images updated "Images Courtesy of Xxxxx"

Thanks

Nice haul there dude!!

Generally the machines I check are empty, with an occasional coin. Yesterday I picked up a Bahamas 25 cent coin in the same machine, last week a dime, most days nada. This haul was primarily due to the fact that the coins were covered in sticky gunk and many were stuck together, so were rejected. Hot water got rid of most of the gunk, if I find a coin that needs closer inspection for grade or variety/error I will soak in acetone to remove the rest.

From what I can gather it looks like Cohen was selling these for some years. #898 being a case in point.

That seems to have been sold to the Adriance Memorial Library 10/22/76, which is when Cohen signed it for a second time, and by that point the Erratum sheets were being added. It was then added to the Library collection 11/03/76 as per the Library date stamp. Would be interesting to see when Cohen started adding the Erratum sheet to the books.

Sweet!

I'm not sure how you are keeping track of these, but I saw them so figured you would want to know.

Did you see my post above about #235?

JC Stevens, in my searching I discovered that images for #965 and #798 are in Amazon Customer reviews... Not sure if you have these tracked down...

Ok JC my newest additions arrived this afternoon, Number 235 as well as previously mentioned 444. Looks like both came from private collectors, no library or other markings on them. Also no erratum sheet in either.

Just noticed this week my original purchase '898' has Cohen's signature a second time. Dated 10-22-76. Close to the binding on the 'Information For Collectors' page. ( And I just now noticed you can see it in the original picture I posted.

Thanks Celtic, I was looking at a blank, pre upsetting, I figured that an upset planchet and a finished coin should be the same size, I was trying to find out if there is a significant difference in the blank and an upset planchet/finished coin.I noticed that Biokemist6 had examples of all.

Yer Jasper, I found it in my quest to understand non upset planchets and their size. A member in another forum I am in was giving what appeared to be misinformation, and I wanted to get actual facts on the sizing.

Nice one!

Absolutely Love woodies. This is one that a friend of mine in Australia gave me on a recent visit to Australia. I had it graded due to being borderline XF.
