I have received a large collection of asian / Chinese coins. I unfortunately have no knowledge of the coins. They were purchased from an estate in which the collector had owned a coin shop in the 1980's & 1990's. They had said he sold the majority of his collection before his passing. I will be posting quite a few more Chinese coins.

I was wondering about the authenticity of this coin as well as date / variety info & approx value. Majority of coins have been in brown paper envelopes for who knows how long.

Diameter of the coin is 30.5mm.

I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

@jak, I'm sure you are going to get a bunch of similar comments on the various coins you are posting. Please confirm that a strong magnet is not attracted to this coin. Also, I think it is worth measuring the specific gravity on these unless there are details which make this a one-look fake.

Appreciate the tip & in future posts will start adding additional test done such as sticking to a magnet (non of the coins posted did and all seem to be silver). I unfortunately don't currently have access to a scale which is why I havent added weights.

Ok yes thx for including this additional info.

In one of your other recent posts, it sounds like these are showing up as silver on your Sigma so that is good news. A good scale should be your next purchase though!

It appears authentic, good scale details with looks of old cleaning.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Would that center corrosion spot need to be treated / acetone soaked?

There's no reason to expect this coin to be a fake. It's a common coin in that condition.
