1944-D Penny Possible Doubled Die Obverse / DDO

crr434 New Member United States 32 Posts	Posted 07/05/2023 03:16 am Hi I have this 1944 D penny I thing its a doubled die on the date and mint mark but not quite sure. I have seen them on Wexler and a few other sites but sometimes it can be a glare so I was wondering what you all think. I also see it a little one the O in one Report this Post to the Staff

In-focus and less glare.Also,always check all three reference sites and post what attribution number you think your finds might be. rmpsrpms Pillar of the Community United States 3853 Posts	Posted 07/05/2023 1:36 pm Doubled Dies don't show up on the mintmark. The mintmark was punched after the die was hubbed. If similar doubling is showing up on both the date and the mintmark, it is very likely machine damage doubling. If the doubling on the date looks "different" than on the mintmark, then it may be die doubling on the date, and repunching on the mintmark. There for if the date and mint mark are doubled it might be a doubled die,yes?
