Hi I have this 1944 D penny I thing its a doubled die on the date and mint mark but not quite sure. I have seen them on Wexler and a few other sites but sometimes it can be a glare so I was wondering what you all think. I also see it a little one the O in one

@crr, which one of the DDOs do you think you have? Here is a link to the known ones on varietyvista:

crr434,
Please work on posting better quality pics, the better the pics you post the better we can help you. In-focus and less glare. Also, always check all three reference sites and post what attribution number you think your finds might be.

Speaking for myself, I cannot determine--from the pics posted--if there is any form of doubling present on the date and mint mark. Hope to see full, large and sharp images.

Doubled Dies don't show up on the mintmark. The mintmark was punched after the die was hubbed. If similar doubling is showing up on both the date and the mintmark, it is very likely machine damage doubling. If the doubling on the date looks "different" than on the mintmark, then it may be die doubling on the date, and repunching on the mintmark.

Knowing the minting process is important when trying to determine what you have.

Starting in 1990 the mint mark is added to the master die, correct? There for if the date and mint mark are doubled it might be a doubled die, yes?
