Yeah, I was surprised by all the good wheats I found in the rolls. Especially the '13, '16-S and the '43. Thing nearly gave me a heart attack. Probably my best find in terms of variety

did $50 from the CU: 2 solid rolls of wheats! here is what was inside! 19 AG 17 AG 28 G 23-s F 26-d F 21-s VF 29-d F 39-p x4 37-s 38-d 40 41 x4 42 42-d x2 44 x9 44-d x3 44-s 45 x3 45-d x3 45-s 46 x4 48 48-d x2 49-d x2 1950's = 66(including other singles I found as well) all in all that batch was 118! i always wonder, how do 2 solid rolls of wheats end up at the bank? your theories? OH YEA forgot to mention... the notables.. aside from $10 was copper! probly my best copper percentage... i also scored a 1998 WAM, 1975-D counterstamped Kentucky, and a 1973 cinco centavo, and 3 dimes... that $10 in copper put me to 2x $25 boxes which I just sold on ebay for $75... =D

SDCoinGuy... I found a half dozen solid rolls of wheats while searching bank rolls and I have been contemplating that as well... old change jar from grandparents that gets turned in to buy a video game? seniors cleaning their closets and penny banks to buy necessities during this recession? Either not knowing what they have or not caring. My mom has had seniors come into her bank to turn in rolls of silver... she's even told them to take it to a dealer, but they don't want to venture into the unknown... they don't want to "fuss" with it - "Just give me the face value" is what they actually say. Years before I started collecting, I turned in an old glass coffee jar full of pennies from my grandma... we needed to buy formula for our son, but I was layed off, and we didn't have any other money. Instead of grappling with the notion that these were "more valuable" - I saw it as another means to get what I needed - more of a hassle to turn in the change.... if I could only turn back time...

I began to search $10 in CWR noticing that $7.50 of it had initials on the wrapper. Much to my dismay these were someone else's dumps which didnt even have a single copper cent in them. So I resigned myself to search the other five rolls (with my stats I knew I could only expect one wheatie). I opened the last roll and something caught my eye... Its got plenty of rust which I will refer to a the patina of a bygone era...1943d!

Really reminds me I gotta get back into CRH. Thing is I feel bad going into a bank asking for 25$s in pennies for a 'hobby' when I am in the middle of the huricane zone and people around me are throwing out hundreds of dollars in meat because the havnt had power since the storm. can't get myself to do it just yet.
