Hello there, collectors, of well...collectables! I need assistance/advice for identifying mint errors and maybe find a est coin worth. I'm a total newbie for coin collecting and Ive never been much of a coin collector, myself. Ive done a little studying, to get the basics of identifying a coin and their varietys and errors of and altho I found a few similar to my coin, there is no match. I think it is a uncirculated, mint error and one of a kind. I come across it, when I was working retail back in 1983/84 and found it in my float, straight from the bank, in a unopened roll of pennies. The "penny" stood out completely from the rest, being that it was silver, like a nickle but stamped as a penny.
So, anyhow, Ive kept it all of these years and was careful with the storage of. What I have is, what I think, is a uncirculated, one of a kind,1983 US Lincoln Memorial one cent mint error coin. Wrong metal error. I'm not sure of any other errors on it, but, like I said, I'm a newbie at this.
So, what do you all think about it? See any other flaws, that I may have missed?Any possible, ballpark, price estimates? I was also researching the grading companies, like, ICCS and PCGS etc., and found it is quite costly to get a grading, these days. In your opinions, is this coin, even worth getting it graded at all? All I know, is that I don't have an extra $200+ to pay to have it graded properly.
