Good day everyone, I hope you're all well. I found a Cud on the queens lip. Is this a common one?

Thank you for any info.

I've read where Australia calls those Cuds and US would call those DIE CHIPS. Nice find either way!

Nice find. I haven't seen that one before. I have found quite a few 2009 5c coins with "toe jam" on the echidna's lower left foot (right hand side of the coin) before. If I found that coin it would be a "keeper".

Wonder what the catchy ebay name would be ? I can think of a few (remembering to be family friendly and respectful of the late Queen).....I'll keep them to myself....

Keeper for sure...........good luck on future finds..

'Some experts in the coin error-variety hobby insist that for the blob to be called a Cud, the damaged part of the die must include part of the edge of the die. Although this is the purest definition, in everyday numismatic communications you'll see the term " Cud" used to describe the blob created by any die chip or serious die crack, regardless of its placement on the die or coin.' https://www.thesprucecrafts.com/cud...coins-768438

... as is the case in Australia.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to reply. My catchy name was fat lip queen, as all my finds they are dust collectors (unless it's millions ). I call everything a Cud, it's my slang. But yes, die chips. I wasn't sure if it was a common. It's been a good week have a great day.
