Quote: My Favorite Version I'm a big fan of these as well. Quote: I'm told I am a Tad Over-Excited I think you're just the right amount of excited. I'm always excited about new ASEs.

Quote: what makes these different from other 2024 silver eagles The uncirculated Silver Eagle with the W (West Point) mint mark is very popular with ASE collectors. It comes in a presentation box with a Certificate Of Authenticity. The coin has a matte finish that is referred to by collectors as "Burnished".

The only uncirculated ASEs referred to as burnished are those from 2006 on (except 2009 and 2010) with the W mint mark that come in the original box with a certificate of authenticity. Burnished refers to the matte finish that is a result of the tumbling process before being struck.

yep there are several types of finishes: Proof Reverse Proof Uncirculated (burnished) then Bullion (for silver stackers)
And a few that are called 'Enhanced'
2013-W Enhanced uncirculated (Burnished) 2019-W Enhanced Reverse Proof 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof
then an odd one out I hte 2016-W Proof with edge lettering.

Thanks yeah I did it shortly after I posted my reply - I decreased my subscription from two to one just too much else going on that needs that cash right now. If I get two I get two. Not the end of the world but I'm updated for next year!

Let me ask a question on this topic which seems to be as appropriate as anywhere else: the bullion versions that stackers buy are simply ASEs without a mint mark and the fancy Mint packaging, correct? To each his own, but I much prefer buying into the SLV ETF fund to make money off the price of AG. I get the concept of a prepper being ready in case fiat money breaks down, but in terms of buying/selling for investing I like to swing trade SLV. For collecting, I like to give my excess $$$ to the Mint :)
