The second coin looks like an Indian mughal silver rupee of Shah Alam II, AH 1198/RY 25, Qasba Panipat mint.

For the first coin, diameter to the nearest mm and weight to the nearest tenth of a gram would help with ID.

Seeker55, thank you for sharing that link. Researching the rupee a bit further, I was able to find out that this coin originated from the Rohilkhand Princely State. A very similar coin was offered on iCollector, but did not sell: https://www.icollector.com/Silver-O...om_i24134178

@shah, glad to see that @seek could help with one of these. Can you please add the diameter and weight of the first piece to this thread? Thx.

@spence, thank you - it is about 2 cm across, less than 10 g.

Sorry, those measurements aren't precise enough to search the Zeno database.

It's possible that another member will recognize or be able to read the coin.

Seeker55, thank you. I have tried all the usual suspects for a paisa-type combination of copper, Devanagari and Persian scripts (Baroda, Kutch, Ladakh, Marathas), but came up with nothing.

Seeker55 and Spence, thank you both for your help. I have just found he first coin on Numista, it is a Bengal Presidency paisa (makes sense!):

Keith12, thank you - you are absolutely right. The reverse (with the value legends) is more similar to what I have. Very observant of you!
