Thanks, jbuck! I like how well they are preserved for 400-600 year old coins, too.

Hello Indian coin aficionados,

I've purchased some copper coins from Indian Sultanates, which were very imprecisely described by the seller (even their denominations were off most of the time). I tried my best to attribute them, but given a great diversity among these coins, am not sure how good a job I did. I would appreciate some help from Sultanate experts with this (just a shout out if any of these are grossly incorrect).
Thank you all in advance!

Keith12, thank you - you are absolutely right. The reverse (with the value legends) is more similar to what I have. Very observant of you!

Seeker55 and Spence, thank you both for your help. I have just found he first coin on Numista, it is a Bengal Presidency paisa (makes sense!):

Seeker55, thank you. I have tried all the usual suspects for a paisa-type combination of copper, Devanagari and Persian scripts (Baroda, Kutch, Ladakh, Marathas), but came up with nothing.

Seeker55, thank you for sharing that link. Researching the rupee a bit further, I was able to find out that this coin originated from the Rohilkhand Princely State. A very similar coin was offered on iCollector, but did not sell: https://www.icollector.com/Silver-O...om_i24134178

Greeting to all fellow coin enthusiasts!
I collect Canadian, Indian and Russian coins. Not being able to read Devanagari, Gujarati or Urdu, have to rely on experienced collectors to identify my Indian coins. Can read the Cyrillic script, though, so will be able to help any other Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian or other East Slavic coin collectors.
Great to have joined the community!
