1937 Lincoln Wheat Cent / LWC Not Sure What You Would Call This.

Anyway I have a 1937 Lincoln Wheat cent that at first glance I thought it was just damaged but after looking closer I believe it is actually an error. I believe it is a lamination error or maybe Struck Through Grease... I'm not sure so that is why I am posting it here to get your expertise and input! There is not rim damage or excessive metal build up which is why I do not believe it is just a damaged coin. Report this Post to the Staff

The rest looks like corrosion, from possibly being in the ground for a bit and also damage. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/21/2023 3:17 pm Note how the outside edge of the coin is distorted. As mentioned, this is damage to a coin. Sometimes cents are used as a screwdriver that alters the coins with damage. So no premium for this one. Just a Wheat cent now. Report this Post to the Staff

Everything is from a lam, the top fell of long ago like Dearborn said and has wore down. I don't think the coin is out around, like it would be with a hammer strike. ? Report this Post to the Staff
