I thought I'd share two new notes that arrived in the mail today.

The first is a small size Type 2 $100 National Bank Note. I thought it was an attractive note for the grade, and I like the bank name - The Live Stock National Bank of Chicago. Now, the only remaining one I need to complete the small size NBN type set is the Type 2 $50, but those seem to be a little tougher to find.

The second is a $10 small size gold certificate. While not as eye-catching as the large size gold certificates, I still find these very interesting from an historical perspective.

Great notes as usual hokie. BTW, my daughter decided on UVA for the fall, so I gotta cheer for the Cavaliers.

That's what a Dad has to do . I was at VT during Ralph Sampson's sophomore and junior years at UVA, and I was a fan of the Cavaliers basketball team during that time. Except when they played the Hokies, of course...

Been after one of these for ages... a holy grail note for me.

This is the sellers image (a dealer that I have had good experience with) so I pulled the trigger imediately when I saw it.

One of the real classics of US banknote collecting for sure (I chose it for my avatar after all). This is the note that first got me drooling over large size notes. Mine is in pretty much the same condition as yours and is one (if not the) highlight of my collection. Congrats.

Wonderful addition David. The 1896 Silver Certificates are great examples of the banknote engravers pinnacle of artistry. I bought this massive 24" by 12" lithograph by renowned playing card artist Jackson Robinson. The details are amazing.
