2019 A to Z - 'L' for Lamington You may have already read it in the RAM's latest annual report. But just to be sure: Merely 346000 coins of each letter were minted up to the cut of date for the report. Additional coins would be included in next year's annual report. But I doubt it would add much to the total mintage of these coins. Bottom line: While not rare, they are certainly ''rare-ish.''

Maybe the US mint will take a note of this and make quarters of same kind of theme for us. Although I know some people love all the new designs on our quarters, the design changes have been happening so often and for such a long time that the alphabet theme would be a welcome twist. Genius idea from Oz IMO.
But I think a potential failure our mint would make at this would be b/c they would not include the humor some of the Aussie coins have.

Actually genius idea from UK and pilfered by Oz. The UK A-z coins came out in 2018, the Oz in 2019.

I hope that Canada does not issue A-Z coins! I can't keep track of the existing ones. It might be a problem here as we are officially bilingual and there are far fewer words that have the same first letter in English and French. Still, the "B" choice would be obvious-"bilingual" "bilangue".

I hope they do! Two sets of words, 26 for each language. 52 coins to collect!! That would be awesome. Belgium could do it as well! Would think Beaver and Moose would be obvious for the English. My French is a bit rusty (actually non-existent) but coins would be a way of learning French.

Actually the Poms pinched the idea from Australia who did it with the set of Animal Alphabet coins released in 2015,2016 & 2017. Although those ones were NCLT.

@David, yes, 2 sets of 26 would be possible. or maybe 2 words on one coin. I am sure that someone in the RCM thought of it already. We did have the provincial/ territorial series in 1992 (12), plus the month series (24 for 1999 and 2000), so that is a fair number. Incidentally, unlike the Australian alphabet series, all were issued in substantial numbers and were not hard to find in circulation.
