Recently sold my old 1877 and upgraded to this one. I don't have it in hand yet though.
Guesses on the grade?

Here was my old one. It was pretty nice too, but I am attempting to upgrade my entire IHC set to full liberty's

WoW! Nice eye appeal on that one. My first thought was XF and it's got to be VF35 anyway. I don't know IHC very well though. Maybe VF30? I guess we'll just say out of my price range!

P.S. Just looked at a couple graded ones and I'm going back to my original XF40 guess.

somewhere between VF30 and EF40 me thinks, nail it down I'd say VF35 to be safe.

1877 IHC's are notoriously softly struck.
Your coin could easily be a low end AU.

Here's mine.
Notice the lack of four diamonds and the loss of detail on the ends of the feathers.
And on the reverse the typical weak "N".

Look at the images and decide the grade.
At the bottom I'll post the grade.

And the verdict: I thought it was exceptionally strong for a 35, with full liberty, and full top and bottom rails. Many 35s don't even have a full liberty. Kanga, your example is beautiful!
