Haha, bit obvious huh? I was starting to think I might be a bit overzealous. Maybe a bit slow too. ;-) We all know what it is. But... I just gotta know for sure!

Right...and that opinion is a wasting time. Like I said. That's prob what it is. So instead of repeating the same Opinion over and over, can anyone answer my question? My question was not 'what do you think is wrong with it." My question is how to we find out.

There are a bunch of these out there and the idea is to prove its not an error to put everyone who still thinks they have an error coins mind at ease. So please stop posting what you think it is. It's a waste of time for both of us. I'm surprised that still isn't clear. So what chemical can I put this in? I'll take some pictures. If no ideas then I'm going to drill into it.

I would carry it in your pocket and see if it wears off from contact with other coins. Looks like it was homeless for a time. So let it wear on its own in your pocket. Take before/1 month/2 months and keep a running library on it and see what it looks like.

It's not opinion, it's fact based on experience. Like someone stated before, I too have dug hundreds of these with a metal detector. It's environmental damage. Now what to do with it? Get yourself 9 more just like it and go to the store and buy yourself a soda.

Just phone around your local area's larger coin or gold and silver buyers, they should all have an XRF due to many fake bars and fake silver and gold bullion coins. If you dremel or clean the coin harshly, this will destroy any value the coin would have. If the xray results are a copper planchet, you have an expensive coin, if it's missing clad layering, not much.

On the last two images posted, you can see the cladding starting to show through the copper color. So it is not a missing clad planchet. Also the surface is rough just like an environmental damage coin would have.

Please stop wasting your time repeating the sane information. I'm going to do it. So help or don't. Anything else is a waste. Unless you wanna talk about something else. We all clear on that? IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN OPINIONS ARE WORTHLESS. It's meant to PROVE to all that its environmental damage. We all clear on this now or is someone else going to post what they think it is?

At no point did I ever ask for 'why is it like this'. I don't need opinions here. I'm sounding very rude here. I know most of you reading this hear me. I'm just trying to get point across to last few posters, and request some help.
So who knows a good chemical process to restore dime? Or even to destroy it? I just want to see what's underneath. Anyone? Or is next post gonna tell me it's environmental damage here?

I'm obviously rather stubborn here. I'm just not sure why you think telling me the samething over and over will mean anything. I know you guys are pros or experienced. And this may be a bit childish. But it's not gonna stop me. So who will help me experiment? X-ray post was very helpful, despite my own inability to make it happen. Thanks again John for that post.
