If you are visiting coin shops or coin shop owner can you elaborate on peoples desire to sell or buy the metal on this weekend?
Thanks

I spoke to some of the people who I know have PMs which they would like to sell. But right now, most of them have shelved plans of selling as they think that markets will recover in some time.

I have been a lurker for a few months, I am new to stacking, still learning what interests me. I have been in a few LCS and never witnessed anything "remarkable", seen run of the mill transactions, such as a small ziploc of family jewelry kind of stuff to sell. I was open mouth gawking this week when I saw a guy with "4 MONSTER BOXES" selling, 3 appeared to be ASE and misc coin books in the last. They pretty much put em' on a scale. My thought was maybe that will be me in 10 years. As a guy on a beer budget, this was quite a spectacle, I wish I could have stood there longer and watched. I wish him well, looks like he had been doing this for a while.

My LCS is a jeweler, while I'm in there, customers are in and out, quite the bustle at times. He gets silver in, and it moves right out. Most of the time he has little; sometimes a buyer comes in and cleans out all the gold and silver coin and bullion. I've spent a lot of money there on gold and silver, his premiums on junk aren't bad, and sometimes I can buy near spot.

My local shop has always had junk silver available for sale at 3 percent over spot for the past few years. Last week it was 5 percent over spot for dimes and quarters, 10 percent over for halves and they had availability. Today 15 percent for dimes and quarters, no halves! Guess that says something. People are buying even at those high premiums. I wonder how long for these huge premiums.

I went to a local shop today and they were selling what little 90% they had left at a higher total price than I could have bought it at last week with spot $2 higher and there were three people in line waiting to buy. Sellers are few and far between as far as I can tell.

My local guy pretty much pulled all his bullion, he said he'll sit on it before taking that big of a loss. There are still deals to be had via the online dealers though. Provident has great prices and free shipping this weekend. I've picked up about 100 oz since close friday at a $29 per ave. but all the coins are premium type coins that I can't see going wrong with at under $30.

makes no sense for dealers with any scale to hold and not sell. As long as they have suppliers and can keep up with buyer at wholesale prices, these dealers should be making money irregardless of price movement

I was in a coin shop Saturday. The owner was talking to a couple customers about the drop. He was worried and intended to unload his gold and silver. I guess he was too late.
