Yesterday auction of Lot # 726 is a really cool 1967 one dollar foldover, something I have never seen in many years of error collecting, although cool the price was wicked amost 25K with all the taxes and fees. The rest of the really cool currency errors garnerd great pricing too, I guess market speaks Edited by john100 02/09/2025 9:01 pm

Very cool error.
How did the serial numbers not get printed on the left side?

Most likely a misscut strip of another note got in the way of the left serial # that is why you see partial first and last digits and this note a fold over happened and received the full right serials a really cool error as all foldovers. The big question is how this left the printers, my guess it was printers waste hard to see how this note was in a brick without another hard crease in it, could not even place a bid it went to the moon, and thanks for uploading the pic !

Too bad this type of error is in a sealed container. You'll never get to admire how the banknote is left without a serial number on the inside of its fold. I think I'd remove it from that CCGS holder.

You need to have these types of errors certify to protect the note or everyone who handle the note will open and close it, there is no serial under the fold, it is on the back of the fold, it what makes this thing cool. If this note was not certify, it would not reach the price it did, as mentioned there is one big question

Quote: You need to have these types of errors certify to protect the note or everyone who handle the note will open and close it I would be the only one handling the banknote and if I did allow someone else it would be someone who would be careful. Quote: there is no serial under the fold, it is on the back of the fold, it what makes this thing cool. Well obviously, that's why I said you can't admire it. Quote: If this note was not certify, it would not reach the price it did Are you saying they paid $25,000 for a holder, I think not. If I ever wanted to sell it again I'd get PMG to certify it for me and everybody knows their reputation for over grading. It'll probably get a UNC-60 grade and I'll sell it for $50,000. Quote: as mentioned there is one big question CCGS graded it EF45 which is proof there are imperfections on the banknote that could have happened while it was part of a brick or mishandling since but that still has nothing to do with how I would enjoy any banknote.

Why would anyone even think of cutting and tampering with this error bill. Just use your imagination what the under fold looks like. I bet its just blank white paper.

Someone as experienced as you thinking the banknote's design is not fully printed is another perfect example that raw banknotes are better.
