Hi all. I have been away from coin collecting since about 2010 as other stuff got in the way, but am keen to start from where I left off.
My first question is "What do you guys use these days for image hosting"? I was using photobucket but there must be something better by now I feel.
My second question is "What happened to the excellent Aussie penny page that I thought was Sandbox, but I could be wrong"? The page had good images and the details needed on both sides, die varieties, mintmarks etc for all Aussie pennies.
Cheers and have a great day.

jens coins, thank you for posting that link. I was perusing their site and came across their April Fool's "auctions" - hilarious!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I did see that one and it has the feel of what I was after but the site had a complete article on the Aussie Pennies and Halfpennies from memory and was very informative. It was about 14 years ago so may be no longer on the web mate. Cheers and thanks.

There are Forum members both here and on the Oz one that have a DVD/USB stick copies so hopefully they may see your post. My copy was on my XP computer when the HDD died so not much help.

Quote: My first question is "What do you guys use these days for image hosting"? When sharing images here, I upload them directly to CCF. So, no matter what happens to a hosting site in the future, they will always be present for the topics in which they were posted. For personal use, I save images to Google photos and sort them into albums.

Always use an off-site host to re-size my images before uploading. Never been able to use this forum's system, which in my view is primitive. I can easily upload any pic directly from my photo files on every other forum I visit. Why is this so?

Thank you guys. Basil, after more searching on an old computer I found the site was Triton. I'm not sure if this was Jon's site but found a n archive of the whole site http://cpmarchives.classiccmp.org/c...pennies.htmlNot secure my browser tells me. Lots of good information in there, although it doesn't have it all, but I suppose none do. Cheers.

As soon as that site requests personally identifiable information, leave it. Until then, browse all you want.

Quote: Yes,but you have to be careful things aren't left on your computer, cookies are just the start but the site seems ok. That sounds logical on the surface, however, http or https makes absolutely no difference whatsoever for that.
