The commotion caused by this release must have brought back nightmares of the 2016 American Liberty Silver Medals (S)(W) release for some. I've had the (S) version for a few years and added its (W) cousin today. I dug through the archives and read the thread: http://goccf.com/t/262471 . Seems to me we could see more of this kind of chaos on any "limited" releases -- coins or medals -- going forward.

Indeed. Happy to say I was able to buy both when they were released.

I've been watching ebay listings for these, how much they sold for, both in mint boxes and graded, will be interesting to see what they sell for in a year or two.

If I figured right, PCGS, NGC populations for unsigned ones show about 15%-16% grading MS69 or less. I don't know if this is normal for mint products like ASE, I didn't look. But it seems the mint could do better than 84%-85% being MS70.

Here is one on ebay, notice all the milk spots, especially above Liberty''s head. The seller noted them in the description. I sure wouldn't want to buy one with stock photos unless the seller allowed returns.

I emailed mint customer service several times, asked them to be specific, why they reduced the product limit from 75K to 50K, of course they didn't answer, just responded with general statements about laws and rules they follow. I wonder if they reduced the limit due to quality problems, lack of planchets, maybe add the remaining 25K to a set but I doubt that.
